SEASON FINALE: clarinet, cello, piano
Works by Beethoven, Max Bruch, Carl Frühling and David Wallace
Join Clapham Chamber Concerts for their 2024-2025 season finale on 13th June. Artistic director and clarinettist, Jonathan Parkin, invites pianist, Sebastian Stanley and cellist, Elliott Bailey, for a programme showcasing lyrical works for clarinet, cello and piano trio.
The concert will feature Beethoven’s Gassenhauer Trio, Op.11, the first work composed for this instrumentation and one of Beethoven’s earliest chamber works, and selections from Max Bruch’s Eight Pieces, known for its rich mellow instrumental hues and heart felt expression. The trio will also introduce its audience to an overlooked, yet stunning, late romantic trio work by lesser known Austrian composer Carl Frühling, whose musical style is somewhat reminiscent of Brahms, Schumann and Wagner. Last but not least, the concert will include a performance of David Wallace’s Venus Under Moon, a work composed especially for CCC by their own in-house composer. This promises to be a wonderful and celebratory evening, to end what has been another fantastic year of music making for the series. Tickets can be booked in advance from our Eventbrite page using the button below. There will be a single performance, with an interval, starting at 7.00pm at St Paul's Church, Rectory Grove, Clapham. Tickets: £18.00 inc OAPs, £12.00 concessions and Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12. |
