Clapham Chamber Concerts are very excited to welcome Lourdes Fernández Flamenco Company who will present Raíces for the first concert of our new season. We plan to stage this exceptional performance in our usual venue, St Paul’s, following the latest Covid guidelines, and with a live audience! Flamenco charms so many audiences but it is a demanding and technical art with a complex rhythmic and visual language. Raíces draws on and departs from traditional flamenco in search of an eclectic style of music inspired by folk, Andalusian copla, jazz and other styles. Carefully studied and rehearsed acts combine with original moments of improvisation that summon the magic of Raíces, a unique and personal experience for performers and audience alike. Following guidelines, the concert will be shorter than usual, no more than an hour, without an interval, and we will be unable to offer refreshments. We are allowed a maximum of 30 in the audience but plan to put on two performances in the same evening at 6.00 & 8.00 pm. Ticket availability is restricted.
