20th century classics
for violin & piano
Founders Amanda Lake (violin) and Jessie Maryon Davies (piano) return to Clapham Chamber Concerts with a bold and dramatic programme of 20th century music. The colourful impressions of Ravel’s Tzigane and Debussy’s La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin are juxtaposed with stark compositions from Kabalevsky and Bloch. Bridging the gap between the two worlds, Prokofiev’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 2 combines a beautiful harmonic language with virtuosic writing for both instruments. Amanda adds, “I’m thrilled to be performing alongside my duo partner Jessie at CCC once more. The programme will take you on a rollercoaster ride through Europe at the beginning of the 20th century. It’s exciting, challenging, but above all, a lot of fun!” Join us for an unmissable evening with two charismatic young musicians. Tickets available at the door: £12.00, £10.00 concessions and Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12. |
