Friday 13 October 2023 (7.00pm)
A Celebration of Music for Piano and Wind
Performed by Ensemble SW4 with Clíodna Shanahan (piano)
Clapham Chamber Concerts opens its 2023 - 2024 season on 13th October, with a wonderful programme of music for piano and wind. Artistic director and clarinettist, Jonathan Parkin, is joined by the Irish prizewinning pianist, Clíodna Shanahan, alongside some of London’s finest up-and-coming young wind instrumentalists, to perform chamber music by Ludwig van Beethoven and Francis Poulenc.
This programme is unique in that it features a trio work and a large scale work by each composer. Beethoven’s stunning Quintet for Piano and Wind is at the heart of the programme, while the somewhat flamboyant, frivolous and charming nature of Poulenc’s Sextet and his Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano are guaranteed to entertain. The perfect way to spend an Autumn evening. Tickets can be booked in advance from our Eventbrite page using the button below. There will be a single performance, with an interval, starting at 7.00pm at St Paul's Church, Rectory Grove, Clapham. Tickets: £15.00, £12.00 concessions, £10.00 Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12. |
