An Englishman in Paris
Gems from the French repertoire for clarinet and piano
Clapham Chamber Concerts presents their first concert of 2024: a recital of all French music. CCC artistic director and clarinettist, Jonathan Parkin, now a member of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and a very familiar face on the Clapham music scene, will introduce his audience to the very best of French music for clarinet and piano. He invites his prizewinning duo partner pianist, Sebastian Stanley, to perform favourites from the clarinet repertoire, such as sonatas by Francis Poulenc and Camille Saint-Saëns, alongside music by Debussy and Ravel.
The concert will also feature some lesser known gems from the French repertoire, as well as Arthur Benjamin’s own recollections of Maurice Ravel, in his Tombeau de Ravel! Beat the winter blues with this cheerful and exciting programme, performed with flair by two exceptional artists. Tickets can be booked in advance from our Eventbrite page using the button below. There will be a single performance, with an interval, starting at 7.00pm at St Paul's Church, Rectory Grove, Clapham. Tickets: £18.00 (including OAPs), £12.00 concessions (those on benefits and under 25s), £10.00 Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12. |
