Clarinet on the Town
20th century light music gems for clarinet and string ensemble
Step back in time to the 1930s and 1940s, the golden age of light music, and join Clapham Chamber Concerts for a truly special retro-inspired evening featuring music by Kreisler, Bridge, Horovitz and many more. Presented by CCC’s clarinettist, Jonathan Parkin, and accompanied by the CCC String Ensemble led by CCC founder Amanda Lake, this unique concert promises to provide true entertainment on a summer evening, for our closing concert of this season. Our audience will be treated to a selection of light music, jazz-inspired music and English folk-inspired music, composed during the early-mid part of the twentieth century, featuring the clarinet as a solo instrument accompanied by string orchestra. A once in a lifetime opportunity to hear rarely performed light-music gems. Not to be missed. Tickets available at the door: £12.00, £10.00 concessions and Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12 |
