Dvorak's Wind Serenade

Clapham Chamber Concerts is delighted to welcome some of London’s leading young wind players to give a special summer gala concert at 7.30pm on 24th June at St Paul’s Church, Rectory Grove, SW4.
Presented and lead by CCC artistic director and clarinettist, Jonathan Parkin, the concert will celebrate some of the finest works for wind ensemble, including Dvorak’s exquisite Serenade for Winds in the key of D minor, first performed in 1878 and undoubtedly one of the most glorious chamber works ever written. The programme will also feature Beethoven’s Wind Octet in E flat, an early work full of Mozartian charm, as well as a rarely heard work by Hungarian-born British composer, Mátyás Seiber, bringing us into the 20th century in a work that dazzles and entertains.
