Duo Folclore - 2 violins
traditional music, folk-inspired classical duets and improvisations
Folk-classical violin duo Alice Barron and Fuensanta Zambrana Ruiz, Duo Folclore, explore a concoction of traditional music, folk-inspired classical duets and improvisations. They present their own arrangements of music from their British and Spanish roots, as well as delving into the compositional minds of Béla Bartók, Luciano Berio and Astor Piazzolla, who themselves were so driven by folk music. Performances within the past year have included Birmingham European Festival and concerts in Bethlehem and Ramallah. These soulful musicians actively pioneer contemporary and boundary crossing music in London, with a love of Indian classical music that will be featured in this performance. “We celebrate everything surrounding the violin and invite you on a musical journey that blurs the boundaries between improvisation, folksong and classical music.” Alice Barron Tickets available at the door: £12.00, £10.00 concessions and Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12. |
