Piano Quartets
Mozart, Mahler and Fauré
Clapham Chamber Concerts continues its tenth anniversary season with a programme of piano quartets performed by CCC artistic director Amanda Lake (violin), violist Madeleine Pickering, cellist Sophie Rivlin and pianist John Paul Ekins. This delightful and dramatic programme will feature Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E flat, the Piano Quartet in A minor, an early work by the young Mahler reputedly started while he was still a first year student at the Vienna Conservatory, and Fauré’s Piano Quartet in C minor, a work chosen by audience member Jeremy Clayton for this concert’s programme. “Many years ago I worked on Fauré’s first Piano Quartet in C minor and completely fell in love with it. You can smell its exotic harmonies, and if you were to play it you might need to warn the audience that it has mind-altering qualities. Please let me hear it again!” (Jeremy Clayton) Tickets available at the door: £12.00, £10.00 concessions and Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12. |
