Fantasy on themes from Verdi's La Traviata
Music for clarinet and piano
Clapham Chamber Concerts is delighted to announce that it will open its doors again for live audiences this May and June. The first concert will take place on Friday 21st May and will be presented by star clarinettist and artistic director of CCC, Jonathan Parkin, now a very familiar face to CCC followers.
Jonathan invites his duo partner pianist, Sebastian Stanley, to give a hugely varied programme of works for clarinet and piano, from a fantasy on themes from Verdi’s famous opera, La Traviata, right through to Joseph Horovitz’s popular light-hearted and jazz-influenced Sonatina. The concert will also feature Burgmüller’s stunning but seldom played Duo for clarinet and piano, and an arrangement of Arvo Pärt’s atmospheric Spiegel im Spiegel. For those who are craving live music after a difficult winter lockdown, this is an evening not to be missed. Please note: There will be two performances in the same evening at 6.00 & 8.00 pm. The concerts will adhere to the relevant Covid safety guidelines, including a limited number of socially distanced audience members. No refreshments can be served. Ticket availability is restricted. Booking in advance by email only email: [email protected] £15.00, £12.00 concessions, £10.00 Friends of CCC, £10.00 children under 12. |
