With continuing restrictions on live performances we have had to cancel our June concert. Flamenco Ensemble would surely have given a performance to remember, but all is not lost for they asked to be included in next year's programme instead. We, of course, clicked our heels and jumped at the opportunity to do so. Meanwhile we have been busy investigating the possibilities of online performances to see out the current, curtailed season and are delighted to announce that CCC now has a YouTube channel on which we plan to provide performances to keep you entertained while restrictions continue and, no doubt, once they have been lifted, too. The first, perhaps appropriately, is CCC founder Amanda Lake in a recording made at the March concert in which she gave us such a poignant rendition of Biber's Passacaglia. On Friday May 15, the date of our cancelled May concert, Jonathan Parkin stepped up to fill the void. He performs two of Stravinsky’s ‘Three Pieces for Solo Clarinet’ from his own home in South London. We do hope you enjoy these two recordings. | |
