Clarinet Quintets
by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Alfred Bliss
Join Clapham Chamber Concerts for this unmissable opening concert of their new 2017-18 season. Jonathan Parkin, from the CCC artistic team, presents a wonderful programme featuring two of the finest works for clarinet and string quartet. Mozart´s popular and sublime Quintet in A Major never disappoints. Among the earliest and best known works for the instrument, it remains to this day one of the most admired of the composer´s works. Contrasting with this, the first half of the concert will feature a work by English composer Arthur Bliss. Composed in 1932, it is certainly one of his most notable achievements and arguably the finest for this combination from the twentieth century repertoire. A perfect evening to take us into the autumn. Another treat from the CCC series. Tickets available at the door: £12.00, £10.00 concessions and Friends of CCC, £5.00 children under 12. |
